Lady Gaga joins the cast of the series “Wednesday” for the second season
The second season of “Wednesday” will feature a special appearance by Lady Gaga. According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer was invited to join the upcoming season due to the massive success of the viral scene where Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) dances to “Bloody Mary” in the first season.
After wrapping up her promotional commitments for the movie “Joker: Folie à Deux” and the single “Disease,” Lady Gaga has focused on the series “Wednesday.” She is currently in Ireland filming her scenes, which are being produced by Tim Burton, who is also directing some episodes.
The song “Bloody Mary” experienced a resurgence in 2022, fueled by Wednesday. Numerous fans recreated the character’s dance moves to the song, posting their videos on TikTok. As a result, the song saw a significant increase in streams on Spotify and became the most searched song on Shazam.
In January 2023, Netflix used “Bloody Mary” in a video to announce the second season of the series starring Jenna Ortega, which may have been a hint at Gaga’s involvement in the show.
In the same month, Jenna commented in an interview with Variety about the possibility of Lady Gaga joining the cast. “If Lady Gaga were part of the cast, it would be like: two monsters who understand each other,” she said. “You know what’s funny? I worked with a hairdresser who used to work with Gaga, and I watched one of her shows in Boston a few years ago. She sent me a video saying, ‘Hey Jenna, I heard you’re a fan.’ It was such a cute video,” she recalled.
