WICKED: Ariana Grande changes her name in the final credits

Ariana Grande’s fans who go to watch the movie Wicked may be surprised when looking for her name in the credits, as the singer opted to use her full name instead of her stage name. She recently explained the reason behind this choice.

“This experience really felt like a return home for me”, Ariana said in an interview with The Streaming Service. “I feel like I came home in so many ways, with what I learned from Glinda and Elphaba. That was the name I used when I saw the show at 10 years old, and I thought it would be a lovely way to pay tribute. It felt like completing a full circle, and it seemed like something I wanted to do”. In the movie, she will be credited as Ariana Grande-Butera.

Directed by Jon M. Chu, the first Wicked film will be released in theaters on November 21, while the second chapter is scheduled to premiere in Brazil on December 27, 2025.
