SCARY MOVIE 6: Filming begins later this year, and Regina Hall talks about returning to play her character Brenda

Regina Hall told TV Insider that she would be willing to return for “Scary Movie 6” alongside Anna Faris: “Anna is wonderful… Let’s see if Brenda is part of this new universe. I’m excited about the possibility of us getting together again. It would be so much fun”.

Faris also expressed interest in returning to the franchise, but with one condition: Regina Hall must be by her side. In an interview with PEOPLE, Faris highlighted that she would only return for more scares and comedy if her longtime partner, who played Brenda Meeks, her best friend in the films, also came back: “I love her so much. Regina and I would spend the whole day making each other laugh”, Faris said about her co-star. “Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly Regina”.

The next film in the franchise will feature the return of the Wayans Brothers, creators of the first two films: “We’re extremely excited to be part of this new ‘Scary Movie’ and work together again. This franchise was created by us over 20 years ago”, they said to Deadline. “We remember how the audience laughed in theaters and hope to see that happen again. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Jonathan Glickman and his team at the new Miramax to bring those laughs back to the big screen, where they belong. It’s a big reunion”, they concluded.

Jonathan Glickman from Miramax will produce the film, and filming is expected to begin later this year. The release is scheduled for September 18, 2025.
