BOMB: Liam Payne’s friend and two hotel employees arrested for alleged involvement in the singer’s death

A friend of singer Liam Payne and two employees of the Palermo hotel, where the singer passed away, have been arrested by Argentine police on suspicion of involvement in the former One Direction member’s death.

As reported by the newspaper La Nación, the two hotel employees are accused of providing substances that Liam allegedly consumed before his death, while the friend was detained for supposedly “abandoning” the singer.

According to Sky News, the detained friend presented himself as Liam’s manager and accompanied him daily during his stay in Argentina. However, he reportedly did not inform the singer’s family about the relapse and crisis he was experiencing.

After Liam’s death, the police tried to contact this friend through a phone number provided by the hotel, but he did not answer the calls. Although he attempted to position himself as a witness, hotel employees stated that he was not present at the time of the incident. If convicted, the friend could face a prison sentence of two to six years.

The detainees are facing charges of “abandonment of a person resulting in death and supplying and facilitating drugs”, according to prosecutor Andres Esteban Madrea’s statement.

During the investigation, police executed nine search warrants at various residences, where they collected nine cell phones, three computers, two drives, and a container with marijuana. Additionally, over 800 hours of security camera footage, including recordings from roads and the contents of Liam’s cell phone, were reviewed.

In the hotel room where Liam Payne was staying, police found alcoholic beverages and medications such as clonazepam, which is generally used to treat epilepsy, anxiety, and panic disorder.

Following his death, a toxicology report revealed the presence of cocaine, crack, and other drugs in Liam’s system, indicating that he “was not fully conscious” when he fell from the third floor. The cause of death was the impact of his fall, which caused multiple trauma and internal and external bleeding.
