Britney Spears will no longer have to pay child support for her children after 17 years
After 17 years, Britney Spears, 42, will stop paying child support to her ex-husband Kevin Federline and their two sons, Sean Preston Federline, 19, and Jayden James Federline, 18, according to TMZ.
The support agreement was established in 2007 when the couple divorced. At the time, Britney committed to paying US$20,000 per month, an amount that was doubled in 2018 as Kevin took on full-time care of the children, despite shared custody.
In 2023, when Sean turned 18, the support payments returned to the original amount. Jayden, who reached adulthood in September of this year, will continue receiving payments until he completes high school.
However, as reported by Page Six, Britney may still be responsible for certain expenses for her sons. ‘According to the terms of the agreement, she will still have some obligations to contribute to specific expenses,’ explained Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline’s attorney. “While regular child support payments will end, there may be other expense categories to which she agreed to contribute, even after they reach adulthood”.
