The creator of “Squid Game” reveals that he lost “eight or nine” teeth during the production of the first season
Participating in “Squid Game” may be deadly – but creating the series seems equally risky. At least that’s what the creator of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk, revealed. In an interview with the BBC, Dong-hyuk shared that he lost “eight or nine” teeth during the development of the first season due to the stress caused by production. He had previously mentioned losing six teeth.
While many wonder what made him return for another season, Dong-hyuk explains that the main reason was money: “Although the first season was an immense global success, I didn’t make much [money], to be honest,” he said. “So, the second season will help me make up for the success of the first one. Also, I couldn’t finish the story.”
The new episodes will premiere on December 26 on Netflix. It’s worth noting that the streaming platform confirmed that the third season will be the last and will be released in 2025.
Additionally, the second season has already announced the addition of eight new actors to the cast: Park Gyu-young (‘Sweet Home’), Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David (‘The Fortress’), Lee Jin-uk (‘Sweet Home’), Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an (‘D.P.’).
The upcoming episodes will also feature the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-Hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo, as well as newcomers Yim Si-Wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-Hoon, and Yang Dong-Geun, who had already been announced.
