Emotional, Rita Ora Pays Tribute to Liam Payne at the 2024 EMA

Singer Rita Ora paid tribute to Liam Payne, former member of One Direction, who passed away on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. During her performance at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) held on Sunday (10), Rita spoke about the close relationship she had with the singer.

“I would like to take a moment to remember someone who was deeply loved by all of us. We lost him recently, and he was an important part of the MTV world and my life. Liam Payne was one of the kindest people I have ever met,” she said, visibly emotional.

“We thought of various ways to honor him, but sometimes, just talking about it is enough. He had a huge heart and was always ready to help in every way possible. He spread so much joy wherever he went and left a significant mark on this world. Let’s just take a moment to remember our friend, Liam,” she concluded.

The 2024 EMA announced its winners on Sunday night, with Taylor Swift being one of the major awardees.
